As many residents will already be aware a planning application for permission to erect polytunnels has been lodged with Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council (TMBC) Planning Department (reference TM/08/03739/FL). The application can be viewed at the Council Offices or online at http://publicaccess.tmbc.gov.uk. The application covers all the land (in and outside of the parish) farmed by Hugh Lowe Farms.

The Parish Council’s opinions, along with many others, on planning matters are sought by the TMBC Planning Department who will then consolidate all the arguments and opinions in the case and pass them to the planning committee for consideration and decision. 
It is normal for the Parish Council to consider planning applications at their monthly meetings and seek little if any outside advice. Recognising the importance of this application your Parish Council has decided to set up a committee to solicit and collect the important views of residents and seek some help in putting our response together.

A public meeting, open to ALL interested parties, is being held on 5th February at 19:30 in the village hall to consider and work through our response against a framework that will be decided by the committee.  You are invited to attend.   If you cannot then any written opinions and questions will also be reviewed and considered.

The key dates in our timetable are:-
5 Feb: Public Meeting
16 Feb: Ratification of West Peckham Parish Council’s response by the Parish Council
20 Feb: Delivery of the response to TMBC Planning Department
March/April: Planning application goes before TMBC Planning Committee
  If you have a particular view that you wish to ensure is received by the planning department then I would remind you that you can also respond directly to the application via the TMBC Planning Department.
